Harriet Bryan House - Mural Project
In the photo above: Julia Neufeld, artist and Princeton University student Julia Neufeld, a senior at Princeton University, as a philosophy major with a certification in painting, has donated her time and talent to painting a mural on the wall in the lobby of Harriet Bryan House. Julia has been planning the mural since May after visiting the Harriet Bryan House. It consists of three panels -- two of which are scenes from the library plaza and one reflects the patio at Harriet Bryan House that is enjoyed by our residents. Julia has been an engaging presence on site and the residents have enjoyed watching her design come to life. We are grateful for Julia's generous donation of time and talent . _______________________________ Affordable Housing Bus Tour On May 20, 2009, the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness, Princeton Community Housing, and other affordable housing developers sponsored a bus tour for municipal officials and planners and others interested in affordable housing. The group stopped and toured Elm Court and Harriet Bryan House. The links below will allow you to watch the tour's two part video on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92uoW0IopdY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBuK2TnRMxU A special thanks to the Mercer Alliance team, including CityWorks for making this event and video possible! ______________________________ JAHMA (NJ Affordable Housing Management Association) Scholarship Winners Announced Princeton Community Village is proud to announce that twelve residents received college scholarships from JAHMA (NJ Affordable Housing Management Association). In the photo above: Marcy and Pam Elmi, the Executive Director of Princeton Young Achievers, are at the newly named learning center. The Learning Center at Princeton Community Village is now the Marcy T. Crimmins Learning Center in honor of the long-time affordable housing and education activist. Princeton Community Housing's Board of Trustees announced the dedication at the May 17, 2009 celebration of Ms. Crimmins' retirement as PCH's Director of Management and Finance. Managed by Princeton Young Achievers, the learning center provides after-school enrichment programs for children of residents at PCV, one of four affordable housing sites owned and managed by Princeton Community Housing. "It was only natural to name the learning center for Marcy after her long years of dedication to education, through her work in helping to found PYA, her service on the Board of the Princeton Adult School, and her major role in the growth and development of Princeton Community Housing." PCH President, Beth Ogilvie Freda
